We’re happy to announce that our team completed main part of the Smallworld EL.GIS upgrade project at innogy Stoen Operator (part of the innogy Group). Expanded solution will support over 350 users in managing energy grid of Polish capital city.
Smallworld EL.GIS has been used by innogy since 1998, before Electric Office was introduced. Last year our team launched El.GIS extension project to meet growing business needs of innogy.
Upgrade, data migration and new interfaces
During the project EL.GIS was successfully upgraded from Smallworld 3.1 to 4.3 version. The works covered network model adjustment and migration of over 6 million objects (completed with 99.7% effectiveness). Our team also integrated EL.GIS with BPM PP document flow system and replaced innogy’s in-house application for managing field crews with dedicated Smallworld Network Viewer extensions. Currently, we’re finalizing Smallworld EL.GIS integration with SCADA system.
Our team also implemented Network Viewer, Smallworld GeoSpatial Analysies and Smallworld GeoSpatial Server as well as delivered new Smallworld Core and Commit licenses.
innogy Stoen Operator and energy security of Polish capital city
innogy Stoen operates Warsaw energy distribution system and takes care of energy security of the Polish capital city. The company provides energy to 964,000 customers in Warsaw metropolitan area. Innogy’s distribution network is constantly expanded and enhanced. Currently, the network consists of:

overhead: 8km (double-circuit, with one circuit operating on 110 kV voltage)
- 110 kV lines (HV)
overhead: 386 km (per circuit)
underground: 92 km
- 15 kV lines (MV)
overhead: 294 km
underground: 6998 km
- 0,4 kV lines (LV)
overhead: 1334 km (without service lines)
underground: 5324 km (without service lines)
